Establish New TCF4 Mouse Model
Jackson Labs
The JAX Rare Disease Translational Center at Jackson Labs has accepted the TCF4 project nomination to be funded under the JAX Center for Precision Genetics U54 grant (NIH 5U54OD030187). The primary goal of this grant funding is to establish human disease models in the mouse where none exist and to advance therapeutics by matching as closely as possible disease characteristics in the mice with those of afflicted patients.
The current strategy is to create a strain containing the TCF4 c.1732C>T, p.Arg578Cys variant with flanking humanized sequence. This new model will be a valuable tool for various gene and genetic therapy studies at labs across the country.
