Fundraising Events

Hold your own event to raise funds and awareness for Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. It’s easy if you start close to home. Raise money in honor of someone you love, ask friends and family to help, do something that makes you feel great! You could also contact your local media and see if they will feature your event and your story. You can provide information from this website or contact us for ideas, contacts, brochures, and other materials. In addition to running an event, you can also consider running a Personal Campaign.

Sponsorship Kit

Use our Editable Sponsorship Kit to ask for sponsors for your event.  It is a great way to ask for larger donations from companies in your area.

Previous Event Examples

Become a Pitt Hopkins Racer

An individual way to raise funds for research is to become a Pitt Hopkins Racer. This enables you to fundraise as a part of a endurance or distance event that you are already signed up for. Pitt Hopkins racers participate in races, half marathons, full marathons, triathlons and more around the country and internationally.

This type of fundraising enables you to have flexibility in choosing what race fits your schedule and location. You simply pick an event you want to participate in, then raise funds by gathering individual and corporate sponsors. You get to achieve your fitness and endurance goals while giving our children hope for a brighter future. It’s a win-win for everyone!

Get Creative

An excellent way to get inspiration for your event is to think about what makes your event special. Are you honoring a friend or family member? If so, what are his or her special interests or hobbies? Incorporating these ideas can be a great way to make a commemorative event even more personal!

In the past, events have included:

  • Ella’s Bounce Extravaganza event in a Sports Complex
  • A percentage of proceeds from a weekend of photography sessions
  • Lockets of Love jewelry party
  • Children’s lemonade stands
  • Trivia Night
  • BINGO Night

Donations in Lieu of Gifts

A great way to turn an already-planned celebration into a fundraising endeavor is to ask guests to bring a donation for Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation in the amount they planned to spend on a host or hostess gift or have birthday parties with donations to the Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation in lieu of gifts.
