Atlas is a joyful, determined little boy with so much he wants to say and do. Pitt Hopkins syndrome makes it difficult for him to coordinate speech and movement, but it has never diminished his spirit.
Unable to use sign language, Atlas has created his own ways to communicate—smacking his lips when he’s thirsty, staring at what he wants, or tapping books to be read to. From an early age, he has studied our lips, as if trying to unlock speech.
He is deeply social, loves to laugh, and meets even the hardest therapy sessions with enthusiasm (and often a request for a hug!).
Our hope is that Atlas lives a life full of communication, independence, and connection. Supporting the Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation (PHRF) is one of the most powerful ways to make that possible.
Research is moving forward, but it will stall without funding. Scientists have told us plainly that PHRF grants are what keep this work alive. Without them, progress stops. With them, we move closer to treatments that could change Atlas’s life, and potentially unlock breakthroughs for Alzheimer’s, autism, epilepsy, and Parkinson’s.
Atlas is growing up fast. He cannot wait. Every day without progress is a day he spends unable to say what he feels or do what he dreams of doing.
Please donate today. Help give Atlas a voice, a future, and a chance at the life he deserves.Thank you for being part of our community!

Corporate Matching Gifts:
Maximize the Impact of Your Gift to PHRF! Thousands of companies have matching gift programs that double or even triple the charitable contributions of their employees. Many others have donation programs that give money or in-kind donations when their employees volunteer a certain amount of time to the non-profit organization.
Check here or with your employer’s human resources department to find out if your company has a Matching Gift or Volunteer Gift program. In some cases, companies will match gifts from retired employees, spouses, or members of the board of directors. If you know your employer will match your contribution, be sure to send a copy of your company’s matching gift form when you send your gift to PHRF. The PHRF Employer Identification Number is 46-0770142.
