Nicole Dyehouse and daughter, Sarah

The Pints for Pitt Hopkins Research Walk/Run/Cycle event is a family friendly event to help raise money and awareness of the Pitt-Hopkins syndrome that my daughter Sarah was diagnosed with 7 years ago. She is 15 now and one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Her diagnosis however prevents her from being able to live an independent life as she needs full time assistance with care, feeding, dressing, and is also non-verbal. The day she was diagnosed there were fewer than 100 known cases worldwide, today that number is closer to 500. In the last 5 years, a Research Foundation has been created and the 7 labs now conducting research are hopeful treatment or a cure may be found. Funding medical research from a grassroots effort is a daunting task but our small and mighty group has made great progress in just a few years – and you can help.

Bring your family out for an afternoon of activities and fun at Lunken field while bidding on silent auction items. We will have pints of root beer floats for sale to help continue to raise funds, along with a cake walk, and lots of fun.

Can’t make the day event? Would you rather join in for a drink at a pub instead? Meet us at (location TBD) for an evening of drinks, small bites, and more silent auction options. All sales of pints will also help to continue the fundraising.

Either way you can enjoy a pint (ice cream or beer), some time with others hoping to help a girl, her family, and hundreds like her find a voice – literally. The more the merrier. Spread the word, bring your friends, heck – bring your dog… and join us.
